What Nitriding Actually Is ?

Unlike coated cookware that adds a separate layer on top, nitriding changes the iron itself. Through a high-temperature nitrogen treatment, the surface becomes harder and more rust-resistant — while keeping the natural character of pure iron cookware that supports smoother seasoning development over time.

2. Does nitriding make cookware nonstick?

Nitriding improves rust resistance and surface hardness. The nonstick effect comes from a separate micro-sand texture combined with seasoning, not from the nitriding process itself.

3. Is nitrided cookware safe? Does it contain PFAS?
